5. Live here? Local discount cards
From the official pages we checked Oct 16, 2026. Rules change every season, so confirm before you buy. Full details: resident rates guide.
- Palm Desert resident card: $52 a year, gets a $52 resident rate at Desert Willow inside the 3-day resident window (opens 7:00 PM). Source.
- Palm Springs resident card: $61 a year. Posted cardholder rates at Tahquitz Creek for Oct 1 to Dec 23 run $33 to $64, cart included. A rate increase was reported as pending. Source.
- Indian Wells Golf Residence Benefit Card: $45 (plus $5 for a physical card). Residents pay $35 a round May 1 to Dec 31 and $50 Jan 1 to Apr 30 at Indian Wells Golf Resort. Source.
6. Booking tips
- Compare before you book. We check GolfNow, TeeOff, Supreme Golf and each course's own booking page. This week the cheapest price came from: TeeOff (11), GolfNow (1), Course site (1).
- Watch the booking fee. Our prices include any fee the site showed (for example, the $17.98 Golf Center at Palm Desert deal includes a $2.99 GolfNow fee). Desert Willow books direct with no booking fees. Woodhaven Country Club's course site adds a $1.99 online booking fee for public players.
- Play late or midweek. Afternoons and weekdays are usually cheaper. Always confirm on the booking page.
- Mind the sunset. Days are getting shorter in fall, so check sunset time and pace of play before booking a late round.
- Weekend tip. When we checked on a Friday night, Saturday inventory was thin and Sunday had more choice.
- Peak season. Book 30 to 60 days out for peak season.
- Check closures first. Fall overseeding closes many desert courses in October. See the dates above or the live closures page.
