Golf club rentals in Palm Springs and the Coachella Valley

Flying into Palm Springs for golf? You have three ways to handle clubs: rent a set at the course, have a rental company deliver one to your hotel or vacation rental, or bring your own (check it on the plane or ship it ahead). Below is what we could confirm on each business’s or course’s own website, and on each airline’s official baggage page, on Oct 18, 2026 (PT). Where a price isn’t posted, we say so: call to check current rates. Planning the rest of the trip? See public courses by budget, twilight tee times in Palm Springs and all courses.

Fly with your clubs: airline golf bag rules

Southwest, United, Delta, American and Alaska all count a golf bag as a regular checked bag. Southwest, United, American and Alaska waive the oversize fee, and Delta accepts golf bags up to 115 linear inches as a standard checked item. Overweight fees can apply (over 50 lb at Southwest, Delta and American). Southwest’s fees are $45 for the first bag and $55 for the second on Basic, Choice and Choice Preferred fares (U.S. mainland, booked on or after Apr 9, 2026), and it won’t check golf bags over 100 lb or 115 inches. On the other airlines, the fee depends on your fare and route. With a soft-sided travel bag, Southwest, United and Delta require a limited liability release, and American is only liable for damage to clubs in a hard-sided case.

💡 Doing the math: at most of the course prices above ($60–$99 a round), three rounds cost $180–$297. That’s more than Coachella Golf Club Rentals’ $165 men’s flat rate for up to 7 days, if you’re staying in its delivery zone. For one or two rounds, renting at the course is simpler. If you fly Southwest and the golf bag is your first checked bag, it costs $45 each way on most fares. Prices change constantly and are shown as checked. See closures.
