Senior and junior golf discounts in Palm Springs and the Coachella Valley

Golfing with kids or grandkids, or looking for a senior rate? Junior deals are easy to find here: free rounds after 3 PM with a paying adult, $10–$25 green fees, and $85 First Tee classes. Posted senior rates are much rarer. Of the public courses we checked, only The Golf Center at Palm Desert lists one. Snowbirds and retirees usually save more with a resident or discount card (see our resident rates and discount cards guide). Everything below comes from each course’s or program’s own website as we checked it on Oct 22, 2026 (PT). Where no price is posted, we say so: call to check current rates. The Golf Center at Palm Desert (Palm Desert)

The only posted senior rate we found: $21 for 9 holes on the par-3 course for seniors 55+, versus $26 public. Juniors under 17 pay $15. A 6-round player card is $105 for seniors ($130 for adults). First Tee students currently enrolled in a class play free, and a First Tee chaperone pays $15. These rates run Oct 19, 2026 through Apr 30, 2027. (760) 779-1877.

The Lights at Indio (Indio)

City-owned, night-lighted par-3 course. Juniors 15 and under pay $10, compared with the adult green fee of $40 through Oct 27 and $50 from Oct 28 to Apr 5, 2027. Junior FootGolf is also $10. A cart is extra ($15 per person). The course and practice areas are closed for re-seeding through Sun Oct 25, 2026. No senior rate is posted. 760-391-4049.

Indian Wells Golf Resort (Indian Wells)

Part of the Troon Family Golf program: juniors golf free after 3 PM with a paying adult on the Players and Celebrity courses, when available, with one free junior round per full-paying adult. Juniors can also rent Callaway clubs free anytime when playing with a paying adult. Troon’s Junior Club page lists 50% off the posted fee here for Troon Junior Club members (17 and under), plus 50% off range fees after noon. No senior rate is posted. 760-346-4653.

Desert Willow Golf Resort (Palm Desert)

Junior rates are available for golfers 17 and under playing with a paid adult. Book online and the Golf Shop applies the junior rate at check-in. The price isn’t posted, so call to check current rates: (760) 346-7060 ext. 1. For lessons, the Palm Desert Golf Academy at Desert Willow runs Fairway Kids (ages 7–13, beginners, 8 weeks, $349) and the Bobcats Players Series (ages 7–13, intermediate/advanced, 10 weeks, $429), with equipment provided if needed. A PGA Jr. League team (ages 7–13) is listed as coming soon.

Westin Rancho Mirage Golf Resort (Rancho Mirage)

Troon’s Junior Club page lists a $45 junior rate (17 and under, pull cart included) for Troon Junior Club members. The resort’s golf academy offers a 45-minute junior lesson for $60 (ages 6–17), or $80 for two juniors and $100 for three. No senior rate is posted. 760-328-3198.

The Classic Club (Palm Desert)

Troon’s Junior Club page lists a $25 junior rate after 3 PM for Troon Junior Club members, with free range access when you pay a green fee (or a $10 practice-only fee, down from $25). The Classic Club’s own site doesn’t post a junior or senior rate, so call to check current rates: (760) 601-3600.

Tahquitz Creek Golf Resort (Palm Springs)

The Tahquitz Creek Golf Academy runs youth golf programs and supports SCGA Youth on Course. Youth on Course members can play rounds for $5 or less at partner courses (check Youth on Course’s course directory for current partners). First Tee – Coachella Valley also holds fall classes here (see below). No junior or senior green fee is posted, so call to check current rates: 760-328-1005.

First Tee – Coachella Valley (Palm Desert, Indio, Palm Springs)

Youth golf and life-skills classes for ages 4 and up, at The Golf Center at Palm Desert, The Lights at Indio and Tahquitz Creek. A 6-week session is $85 per participant, with a 25% sibling discount, a 10% military family discount and partial or full scholarships. The fall session runs Nov 2–Dec 19, 2026 (registration opened Oct 12). Enrolled kids get free play on The Golf Center’s par-3 course and a small bucket of range balls a day, and parents playing with them pay a $12 green fee. West Valley: 760-834-6791. 💡 Golfing as a family? The cheapest rounds are The Lights at Indio ($10 for juniors 15 and under, once it reopens Oct 26) and The Golf Center at Palm Desert ($15 for juniors, $21 for seniors 55+). For a full-size resort course, Indian Wells lets juniors play free after 3 PM with a paying adult. If your junior plays often at Troon courses, the $35 2026 Troon Junior Club membership (ages 17 and under) unlocks the member rates above at Indian Wells, Westin Rancho Mirage and the Classic Club.
